Symphony finally fires volunteer
After more than five years of dispute and litigation, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra has finally successfully fired a volunteer. The Texas Supreme Court has held that the volunteer has no case against the Symphony and ordered a trial court to dismiss the claims. Jose Reyes, a low-level customer-call-center employee of Bank of America, was a volunteer for the Orchestra for about ten years. He developed a reputation for crashing events uninvited, “photobombing” to get into pictures without invitation, and speaking to the media purportedly on behalf of the Orchestra but without authorization.
