The executive director of a nonprofit trade association who warned the association’s president of possible antitrust violations has lost a claim that he was terminated in retaliation for whistleblowing. An appellate court in Missouri has affirmed a trial court’s summary judgment in favor of the association. The executive testified that he warned the president that one of the association’s committees was engaging in the suppression of wages in violation of antitrust laws. He claimed that thereafter the president began to engage in a pattern of retaliatory conduct, changed policies, and began to micromanage the exec’s activities.
