Professional services exclusion precludes insurance for college police
A federal District Court in Michigan has ruled that a professional services exclusion in a Not-for-Profit Protector policy precludes coverage of a community college and its police officers who were sued by a former student wrongfully convicted for murdering a professor. The student, who had been sentenced to life imprisonment, was exonerated when new evidence indicated that someone else had committed the crime and the college had a videotape showing the student in a different building at the time of the crime.
