Gates Foundation breached at will employment contract
An appellate court in Washington has held that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation breached its implied duty of good faith and fair dealing in an at will employment contract with a new Chief Digital Officer, but has apparently reduced the damages for which it might be liable. Todd Pierce was recruited away from a lucrative job with Salesforce for what the trial court found was supposed to be a “far reaching and transformational” job.
