Federal court dismisses UPMIFA case

A federal District Court in Minnesota has dismissed a suit by an alumnus of St. John’s University seeking to recover a gift he claimed was “mishandled” in the University’s endowment fund. Roger Lindmark complained about gifts to the “Lindmark Endowment for Corporate-Business Ethics” that he had arranged in settlement of lawsuits he had brought against corporate defendants. He had executed a “gift instrument” with the University to establish a summer undergraduate research fellowship for the study of corporate business ethics.
