Does a Little League baseball team owe a duty to a parent-spectator who trips in a “divot” near the batting cage and breaks her leg? By a 4-1 vote, a majority of the Supreme Court of Rhode Island has said “no”. A single Justice has dissented. The player’s mother had been watching the game against a fence between one of the dugouts and a batting cage and walked toward her son after the game ended. Her foot fell into a hole about 6-8 inches wide and 8-10 inches deep.
