A nonprofit providing foster-care group homes for adults with mental disabilities has been found in violation of the National Labor Relations Act for terminating employees who had met with union organizers. One of the unfair labor practices arose because the organization’s confidentiality policy was so broad that it could be construed as prohibiting employees from engaging in organizing activities. Inter-Disciplinary Advantage terminated three employees three weeks after they met with a union representative, allegedly for violations of company policies.
